Iggy Pop to Star in E.T.A. Hoffmann's The Sandman Directed by Dario Argento

Haunting for a simple image

An Indiegogo project has met it's goal back in December of 2014 that had requested for $165,000 but has reached with 20% more than the requested amount; A project that one wouldn't think would be unable to have the funding needed to capture the vision of seasoned film writer/director/producer (and composer) Dario Argento, who is world famous for his films Opera, Demons, and Inferno (only to name a few) which the films of Argento took advantage of the technicolor technology at the time.

Argento's style is dreamlike and mysterious or what is known in Italy as "giallo" and this style looks like it will match up with E. T. A. Hoffmann's The Sandman perfectly, and since Dario Argento's last two films were not will received and to many the last two decades hasn't been the best times of his career; this might be what it takes to reignite the giallo film style and a return to form, but only when the movie is out will we be able to make the proper call.
The goal of this movie's plot is to make something cheerful and jolly like Christmas day to be something dark and traumatic by starting out with a flash back of  the murder of a a young Thomas parents by the hands of a killer know as The Sandman. Thomas actually manages to take out the assailant but is left emotionally scarred by the ordeal. The rest of the the film continues on with an adult Thomas who still struggles with what had happen so many years ago and from there we can only spectate the madness of The Sandman once the film comes.
And good news, Iggy Pop who is the honored Music Monster of the Month is starring in this movie! He even helped Argento make a video for the Indiegogo which he seems rather thrilled to be a part of the Project. Iggy Pop has some acting chops of his own but this movie might be the one where he has the most screen time

The film is still in production so that might be a good thing in terms of quality over all and there's also a facebook page that has updates here and there on the films progress. Also, don't forget to check out the films website to get a chance to read the first two pages of the script
