Today's Horror Choices 06/17/16 - Stop in the Name of Science!

Good morning, horror fans! It's been a while since I've been around to dispense my invaluable wisdom and help you decide which horror movie you're gonna rent today! We have such an overabundance of birthdays and anniversaries that I'm not really sure how to tie it all together. I guess it starts with one Victor Frankenstein...

The 70s were a different time.

The classic 1931 original doesn't make today's lineup, because we need time for not only 1942's Ghost of Frankenstein, which features 112th birthday boy Ralph Bellamy as Erik Ernst, but also The Horror of Frankenstein, which came out on this day in 1970, as well as Roger Corman's Frankenstein Unbound, which sees 50th birthday boy Jason Patric take on the role of Lord Byron.

Lord Byron is not a character to take lightly, but everyone knows vampires are cooler, and J-Pat is probably better known to most horror fans for his starring role as Michael in The Lost Boys. Watch it with your significant other. You'll probably get laid. Just don't ruin it by giving in to the inevitable urge to sing along to Cry Little Sister....

Thou shall not fuuuuuck

Oh, you probably want a weird holiday, dont you? Well... how about National Day of Prayer for Law Enforcement? There are plenty of law men in the horror genre that need your thoughts and prayers; from Slither's Bill Pardy to Tusk's Guy LaPointe to Maniac Cop's Jack Forrest.
